Executive leadership

Clayton Clemens | Executive Director

Clemens assumed the role of Executive Director and Director of Philanthropic Giving at Project Focus. Prior to this, he worked with the government consulting firm, Floridian Partners, and subsequently represented Florida Internet and Television as their Director of Public Affairs. At both entities, his core responsibilities encompassed government policy, public relations, and catering to a broad spectrum of client needs. Clemens began his career by overseeing campaigns for candidates in the 2016 elections.

He currently serves in the following organizations: The University of Tampa Board of Counselors, Florida Chamber’s Political Institute, Associated Industries of Florida Political Council, LIVE Tampa Bay, and an Alliance Partner with SAFE in Tampa Bay.

He was formerly President of 21 & Change, Inc., a Tampa Bay nonprofit where he oversaw the fundraising efforts and distribution of over $50,000 in scholarships to Florida families in need that have children with developmental disabilities.

Clayton and his wife Emily live in Tampa and rescued a black lab. His name is Charlie! In his spare time, you can find him coaching CrossFit, enjoying live music, or searching for the best bar food in town.

Under Clayton’s leadership, Project Focus continues to strengthen its programs, deepen civic and philanthropic partnerships, and move forward on its vision for education, workforce development, and future inclusive living opportunities.
