Temple Terrace, Fla.– July 2026 – Project Focus is proud to announce it has received a $5,000 grant from the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation to purchase two interactive Lyra technology boards that will strengthen educational, wellness, and workforce readiness programming for students with developmental disabilities at Focus Academy. The investment reflects the Foundation’s commitment to improving educational opportunities for children and youth throughout the communities it serves.

The new technology will provide engaging, interactive learning experiences across multiple programs while supporting students as they develop the academic, life, and workforce skills needed to achieve greater independence.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation for investing in the future of our students,” said Clayton Clemens, Executive Director of Project Focus. “This investment will strengthen Focus Academy’s communication, life skills, workforce readiness, and wellness programming in ways that meet each student where they are and help them reach their fullest potential.”

One interactive Lyra board will enhance Focus Academy’s Physical Education and Wellness Program, allowing instructors to incorporate adaptive fitness activities, movement lessons, health education, mindfulness exercises, visual instruction, and structured group activities. The second Lyra board will support their Transition Program and after-school Vocational Rehabilitation Program, serving students ages 18 to 22 as they prepare for adulthood.

“The opportunities this technology creates extend far beyond the classroom,” said Elisabeth Kraft-Radka, Principal of Focus Academy. “These interactive learning tools will allow our educators to make instruction more engaging, accessible, and personalized for every student. Whether they’re learning healthy habits, practicing job interview skills, managing money, or preparing for employment, this technology helps create meaningful experiences that build confidence and independence.”

Project Focus extends its sincere appreciation to the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation for its commitment to expanding educational opportunities and improving the lives of children throughout the communities it serves.
